Ski & Snowboard
Recreational Facilties

Wrongful death, head and brain trauma, and spinal cord injury are some of the most serious injuries that could be the result of skiing and snowboarding accidents. Every year there are a number of beginner skiers and snowboarders hitting the slopes which means an increase in devastating injuries. Injuries that occur while snowboarding or skiing can be blamed on various factors. Responsible parties can be fellow skiers/snowboarders, equipment manufacturers, or resort workers. Studies have indicated that the younger, less experienced skiers and snowboarders are more susceptible to injuries.

Recalled Ski/ Snowboard Equiptment

  • Decathlon USA has recalled 230 Quechua “Rn’x7FX” snowboard bindings after it was determined that the plastic base can break during use, posing a serious injury risk.
  • K2 Sports has recalled 7,400 pairs of Marker M1 Demo Ski Bindings after it was determined that skiers can accidentally displace a lever at the rear of the binding which is used for fitting adjustment by ski technicians. There have been reports of skiers suffering bruises and shoulder injuries.
  • Rossignol and Dynastar recalled about 11,000 pairs of their snowboard bindings after it was determined that the baseplate of the binding can break, which can result in a fall and injury to the snowboarder.
