U.S. CPSC is an independent agency of the United States Federal Government. They were established in 1972 through the Consumer Safety Product Act to protect “against unreasonable risks of injuries associated with consumer products.” The CPSC has the authority to regulate the sale and manufacture of more than 15,000 various consumer products. Many of these include children's merchandise from cribs to car seats to toys. We recommend this as a highly credible resource to learn more about products you either already own or are considering purchasing for your child. They also offer up to date RSS feeds, so you can always stay current on the latest recalls, warnings, and consumer product updates.
